Class Descriptions

Body Assessments & Yoga Psychology
ALL LEVELS, an objective view of each individual’s rotational pattern in the feet, knees, hips, spine, ribs, shoulders & head. This is where you get to see Bryce in action, demonstrating exactly what he does in private classes. Here you will receive an in depth analysis of your body’s imbalances, information regarding the nature of this musculoskeletal imbalance, and what to do about it. This can feel very vulnerable, though there is a strong sense of support and camaraderie. After everyone has received their assessment Bryce will guide us through a very basic therapeutic practice to begin addressing these imbalances. This is a great way to receive customized information to take your health & healing practices to the next level.

We will end this session with a review of Yoga Psychology, breaking down the barriers of our psyche & discussing our interconnection of thoughts, emotions, physical health and relationship health. How your beliefs form the emotional filters that color your mind which directs the flow of energy throughout the chakras, and how these emotions get stored in the body's tissues. Utilizing the koshic model to understand how we can positively change the course of our life & transform our practice. This will prepare us for the Sunday afternoon session.

Vinyasa Flow
HANDSTANDS. The focus here is synchronizing movement with breath to create a moving meditation. This practice will combine somatics, asana & end with deep relaxation. The practice will be geared towards preparing for handstands, but if this is not your thing, you can use the guidance to gain an understanding of deep core strength and shoulder stability. This practice will be short & sweet, and will be as challenging as you want it to be.

Pranayama
BREATH WORK. Classically, the reason for practicing asana is to remove pain from the body, so we can sit for long periods of time without being distracted by pain. Pranayama is the next limb of Ashtanga Yoga for preparing the practitioner for meditation. Pranayama is compared to taming a lion (the mind), in which even the most wild of beasts, will become calm & relaxed with consistent practice. This class will give you the tools to establish a consistent pranayama practice at home, for your own pursuits in creating more peace within. Consistent pranayama greatly enhances a practitioner's asana practice, along with cleansing the nadis, giving you tools to heat & cool the body, along with gaining control of kundalini shakti.

Mysore
ALL LEVELS self practice; moving and breathing at your own pace; this is where the rubber meets the road. In here, there is no right or wrong sequence; complete & total open format; all traditions are welcome. From the super advanced to the total beginner, Bryce will be working individually to help you work through any obstacle in your practice; physical, postural, breath/energy, emotional, spiritual etc; he will be here to help you create a customized practice for your needs. This is as close as it gets to having a private class in a group setting. Within this context Bryce can do postural assessments to help you understand your own rotational pattern in your feet, knees, hips, rib cage, shoulders & spine; and give you a customized therapeutic sequence to create more balance & prevent your pattern from becoming more accentuated.

Integration of Yoga Psychology into our Daily Lives
INTEGRATION. It’s how we integrate the philosophy of Yoga, Ayurveda, Samkhya & Vedanta into our daily lives, that really makes this information worth studying. At least in my experience. It’s how we eat our food, what we eat, how we interact with our loved ones, with strangers & how we relate to ourselves. It’s how we prioritize our practice (or the lack thereof). And the biggest integration is how we respond (or react) to conflict. That’s where the rubber really meets the road & that’s how we see how strong our practice is relative to how strong our old samskara’s are. We will open up the discussion for the purpose of processing participant’s actual experiences.

ABOUT BRYCE DELBRIDGE
I began practicing Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga at the age of 15, after being diagnosed with severe scoliosis.  Facing the option of full spinal fusion, my dear family friends Andrew and Ray Eppler suggested that I try yoga. During my first class, which was with Ray Eppler, I felt at home & at peace in my body; from this initial communion I began devoting my life to various alternatives to surgery.

At the age of 20, I traveled to India to pursue a more austere regiment of traditional practice with Sri B.N.S. Iyengar, a direct student of Sri T. Krishnamacharya.  While studying all 4 classic sequences of Asana (Primary, Intermediate, Advanced A, Advanced B), along with Mudra, Pranayama and Philosophy, I became pain free.  Since then, I have continued to travel & study with world renown teachers, such as David Williams, Danny Paradise, David Swenson, Dharma Mittra, Srivatsa Ramaswami, Maria Mendola, Joseph & Lillian LePaige, Robert Boustany, among many others. I have also completed 1000hr certification through Integrative Yoga Therapy and I am E-RYT 500, YACEP & C-IAYT certified.

In April of 2016, I returned to India to help film a documentary about the evolution of the yoga community of Krishnamacharya in Mysore, India; how this community has influenced the vast majority of modern day Yoga practices & the current views held by the keepers of these traditions. The film is called Mysore Yoga Traditions and is available online at:

We hope the 200-hour “Language of Yoga” course will illuminate the inherent brilliance and true gift of Yoga, which is ever expansive. Knowledge of the Sanskrit sounds is important and this practice will be the core of our work together. The philosophy of Sanskrit and yoga is founded on the principle that everything is vibration, the basis of our existence where true peace lies. We practice tuning into these vibrations using kriya or tools such as prāṇāyāma, mudrā, āsana, and mantra chanting practices help to create clarity, quieting the noise of everyday life, thereby allowing us to experience life at a more subtle level, and most importantly to experience the higher purpose of Yoga. This along with contemplation of the concepts and philosophy of Yoga will help each of us attain our goals. Our own search is truly the only way to deepen our experience of existence. We will create a community to help support our learning together.

• LIVE LIFE WORKSHOP
5 – 8 pm

Enlightened Master Atma Nambi's LIVE LIFE Workshop addresses how to create an atmosphere of ever rising consciousness, energy and creativity. The course is addressing the atmosphere within one Self, which in turn creates the external one in relations of the family, friends and co-workers, as well as the atmosphere in the place for example home, school or at work. When there is an energy coordination brought into the spot we are in flow. This is a state of consciousness that takes away the blocks from different parts of the body and brings creativity and the ability to perceive the situation as it is. Flow makes every action joyous and healthy for one self and others. An atmosphere of flow increases the amount and the quality of the work done over a period of time.

Master Atma Nambi will give techniques for raising the internal and external awareness and atmosphere. There will be moment-to-moment techniques easy to implement in everyday life as well as powerful techniques for clearance of negativities (karma) and inner transformation. Each workshop is new and different based on the audience.

WORKSHOP
Gluteal Amnesia with Kim Squire & Mary Kirkendoll

The gluteal muscles help power us through so many activities, from walking and carrying heavy things, to performing both cardio and strength exercises. When your glutes lose strength, other muscle groups in your back and lower body are forced to take on the extra work to compensate, setting you up for issues such as low back, hip, or knee pain, and can also lead to muscle imbalances throughout your body. Gluteal amnesia itself shouldn't cause you any pain, but over time, if left untreated, weak glutes can contribute to other strains and pains. Join us to explore various ways to wake up your glutes!

YOGA MOVIE NIGHT!

We will have a FREE yoga movie night at 7pm. Popcorn will be provided! Please bring blankets and wear comfortable clothes.

The ancient Icelandic word for intuition is “innsæi,” but in Iceland it has multiple meanings. It can mean “the sea within” which is the borderless nature of our inner world, a constantly moving world of vision, feelings and imagination beyond words. It can mean “to see within” which means to know yourself, and to know yourself well enough to be able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. And it can mean “to see from the inside out” which is to have a strong inner compass to navigate your way in our ever-changing world.

In the inspiring and thought-provoking InnSæi – the Power of Intuition, Hrund Gunnsteinsdottir and Kristín Ólafsdóttir go on a soul-searching, global journey to uncover the art of connecting within in today’s world of distraction, disconnection and stress. They meet with world-renowned scientists like Marti Spiegelman, an expert in neuroscience and indigenous consciousness who believes that we are only using a fraction of our capacity as human beings, with devastating consequences for the planet; artists like Marina Abramovic, the “grandmother of performance art” who teaches that “in order to create something new human beings need to go into the unknown”; and spiritual leaders like the captivating Malidoma Patrice Somé, a West African elder and author who reasons that “intuition binds us together. Without it we lose our sense of purpose and belonging.”  They also meet an extraordinary group of British schoolchildren who are learning how to better cope in today’s world by unlocking the power of nature and mindfulness.

Illustrated with gorgeous animation and stunning imagery, InnSæi is a film like no other, and one that offers radical insights into how we think and sense the world today.

Working Toward Optimal Health with Christy Kennedy

We all have access to a sea of information on diet and lifestyle. The latest science, specific recommendations, glowing testimonials—so many good approaches. It's also overwhelming, often contradictory, and ever-changing. Answers for some are not right for others. Even what you did in the past may not work any more. So now what?

While we do share common issues, we are all individuals, each with our own set of circumstances, histories, and habits that, combined with the passage of time, have steered us along the path of good physical and mental wellness, or somewhere further off in the underbrush. So the goal is to aim ourselves back in the right direction.

This workshop is an overview of how an individualized approach:

1) deepens awareness of how you are/where you are right now
2) sets sights on what you would like to change/improve
3) shapes the plan to get there

We will talk health histories (whoever wishes to), touch on the emerging world of individualized medicine, and discuss the benefits and methods of intermittent fasting.

WORKSHOP: The Divine Feminine as a Portal to Self-Realization

Workshop with Cynthia Ray
(visiting teacher from Portland, Oregon)

We were placed in this world and live in this world to understand and become Self-Realized God Beings. If this is true, then what is Self? What is Self-Realization? How do we come to know God in whom we live and move and have our being?

We can know God in its many aspects; God as Father, God as Mother, God as Self. One approach to come to know our own Divine Self and Being is through the Divine Feminine, and through the feminine aspects of our own personality. Studies in Alchemy, Tarot, and Esoteric Mysteries show us that every person has both feminine and masculine (yin/yang/ positive/negative/solar/lunar) energies and aspects within themselves. Understanding and tapping into those aspects to perform the inner alchemy/spiritual work that is necessary to transform our baser selves into spiritual gold is our quest.

The Divine Mother, or subjective, trans-liminal consciousness speaks to us when we bypass the conscious, logical mind and approach her through irrational/non-rational modes such as:

-Dreams
-Art
-Journaling, poetry
-Sound and Music
-Movement and Dance
-Meditation and Prayer

Cynthia Ray (Rt. Rev. Rosaria) is a priest, artist, mystic and teacher trained and initiated in the gnostic tradition. She teaches tarot as a guide to the spiritual path, meditation, the mysteries of esoteric Christianity, exploring the Divine Feminine, and more. She works with groups and individuals to facilitate individual and planetary healing, transformation and growth.
