Born and raised in India, Geetanjali Tiwari received a Master's degree in Wildlife Ecology from the Wildlife Institute of India and a Master's and PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Pennsylvania State University.  She also has extensive training in Indian classical music and is actively involved with singing and chanting in the community. Geeta built the South Asian Studies program at KU and created multiple study abroad programs to India. She has practiced meditation and yoga for most of her life, travels to India frequently and lives in Lawrence with her husband and two children.
