In this fun, hands on workshop we will learn how to wear the traditional dress of India for women, get henna tattoos, and learn meditative doodling.
Saari is an unstitched beautiful fabric traditionally worn by Indian women. Come learn how to wear a saari with Geetanjali Tiwari. Saaris will be provided, but if you have one you wish to bring feel free to do so. It will be good to bring a short fitting blouse / a low neck crop top / sports bra /camisole / leggings.
Meditative doodling is a simple accessible art form that allows you to focus and re-energize your mind in a fun and relaxing way. This will be taught by Anoosha Redd, a budding artist who is currently illustrating a book for the Sanskrit alphabet. She has experience in water colors, pastels, pen and ink, calligraphy, and colored pencils. Anoosha will also create henna tattoos for each participant. Participants will learn about the plant and traditions of henna in India.
All materials will be provided for use during the workshop.
