Make Your Own Japanese Sweets Workshop w/Ayako Mizumura

Join us to make and sample Nerikiri (vegan and gluten-free), a traditional Japanese sweet served with matcha (powdered green tea) at the Japanese tea ceremony. Class participants will learn how to make this delicate and delicious nerikiri with azuki red bean paste filling and enjoy a bowl of matcha tea made by Ayako. Ingredients used for this class are all natural. No artificial colors or flavors are used. You will take home what you have made (3 - 4 kinds) in class. Join us for a rich and delicious cultural experience. Kids 12 and up are welcome! 

Ayako is owner and proprietor of Bimi Bakery, specializing Japanese sweets since 2013. She practices the Japanese tea ceremony in Lawrence with Dale Slusser, an urasenke tea ceremony master. Emphasizing beauty in simplicity, tea ceremony influences Ayako’s artistic crafting of Bimi’s treats.
